What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent synthetic fibers used to create volume and extend the length of natural eyelashes. In other words, one single extension is placed on one natural eyelash. The result: you won’t believe your eyes! You will have instant volume along with long, luscious lashes. Best of all, our lashes have been specially designed to look completely natural; no one will suspect they’re not yours!
Why eyelash extensions?
Our eyelash extensions represent the next generation in eyelash technology. Lashes By Elizabeth, LLC uses the only professional line of extensions that mimic natural eyelashes, with adhesives produced in the USA and salon developed techniques. Say hello to glossy, feather-light, and silky extensions for the ultimate in luxurious lashes.
Is the adhesive safe?
Yes. We use Rapid Dry and Fume Free adhesives which are medical-grade, designed and produced at an FDA certified facility. Our adhesives have maximum bonding strength with high flexibility and shine. The formulation contains pulverized rubber polymers to provide flexibility – an industry first. Our adhesives are the safest, most sterile and highest performing adhesives available. You will not sense the adhesive during the appointment. Please let your stylist know during your consultation if you have an adhesive or latex allergy so that they may perform a patch test.
What are eyelash extensions made of?
Our eyelash extensions are made of premium synthetic materials. They are nylon based with an organic silk core. We also use hypoallergenic, cruelty free and machine cut genuine mink lashes. The shine and shape will not be affected by water, heat, steam or sweat and will keep up with your busy schedule.
How long do the eyelash extensions last?
The semi-permanent extensions can last for as long as you maintain them. To maintain the look, fill appointments are necessary every 2 to 4 weeks to replace the lashes that have shed or outgrown naturally. Our adhesives are formulated to hold the lash in spite of water, heat, steam or sweat, and can keep up with your busy lifestyle. Conditioner can be applied twice daily, to prolong the life of the extensions.
Will I be able to sense I am wearing eyelash extensions?
No! Because the extensions are placed 1 millimeter away from the base of the natural eyelashes, you won’t be able to feel the extensions. The extensions unique lightweight design ensures that your new extensions will feel like they are your natural eyelashes. The technique of our stylists and their ability to accurately attach a single lash extension to one natural lash ensures you will not feel them or any discomfort. Also, the adhesive is so flexible that the lashes move with your natural lashes.
Can I swim, spa or have a facial service while wearing extensions?
Yes! The extensions application can keep up with your busy lifestyle. Our clients love how our extensions last and last, even when worn on vacation, skiing, swimming, snorkeling, and sunning all day! We recommend that you wait 24 to 48 hours before visiting the spa, tan, or spray tan to allow adequate adhesive bonding. After that, resume your regular schedule.
Can I wear mascara with eyelash extensions?
Yes! Although the extensions give the appearance of wearing mascara, some women still choose to wear mascara. We only recommend using The Lashe® Mascara, which has been specially formulated for lash extensions. Other mascaras will cause premature shedding. If you choose to wear mascara, apply sparingly and only on tips; never apply from base to tip. We only recommend using The Lashe® Cleanser, which was also specially formulated not to affect the bond of the adhesive.
Do the eyelash extensions harm my natural lashes?
No! Since the extensions are applied to your natural lashes away from the base, never touching the skin, the growth cycle of the natural lash is not affected. We do not use thick or polyester based lashes that can harm your lashes. The accuracy in application at Lashes By Elizabeth, LLC is also key to maintaining the health of your natural lashes, and of paramount importance to us.
When am I not a good candidate for eyelash extensions?
You must have some natural eyelashes for this procedure. Extensions should not be applied on individuals who have recently completed or are undergoing chemotherapy, have alopecia, or who suffer from trichotillomania or trichosis. If you have any eye condition where the eye does not look healthy or if you have an adhesive or latex allergy, you are probably not a candidate for eyelash extensions.
How long does the eyelash extension application take?
The first initial full set appointment is 2 hours for synthetic lashes. Genuine Mink application can take 30 to 60 minutes longer than the 2 hour application, as the extensions are more delicate. The fill appointments are typically 1 hour. More or less time is available depending on the the client’s needs.
How many eyelash extensions are in an full set?
Depending on how many natural lashes you have, on average the full set application consists of over 100 extensions placed on each eye. The results are astonishing! We take into account a client’s face shape, eye shape, eye placement, and brow arch to create a unique look for every client. The result is a personalized eye-enhancing look.
Is the eyelash extension application comfortable?
Yes! During the application, you are reclined on a massage bed with specialty leg and neck pillows with the eyes closed. It is such a comfortable process that most of our clients are so relaxed that they fall asleep.
Are there differences between our brand of eyelash extensions and other products available?
False eyelash strips are the oldest and probably most well known product. They involve using a gummy adhesive that touches the skin, and are the least natural looking. Lash strips only last a day and can come off or dislodge during the course of wear. Flares, clusters, and lash tabs are often misrepresented in the market as “individual” eyelash extensions. These products consist of between 3 to 8 lash bunches with a node or knot at the end. Application involves adhesive touching the skin or the node is adhered to multiple natural lash bases, which often damage the natural lashes.
Can I be on a lash growth program and still get eyelash extensions?
Yes, in fact many of our clients are on lash growing programs and these products do not harm the extensions. The more lashes one has the more extensions we can apply. They do work, but take time for results to appear and they do work within the confines of your natural lashes. The liquid must be precisely applied and evenly distributed, as it is possible to grow hair on undesirable places or create patches of thicker lashes. These serums can also be used on brows.
